If you’re a Solo Practitioner, you have a ‘practice’.
The way you become a Millionaire is saving for retirement. Your retirement assets are liquid and you will live off your ‘retirement millions’ by drawing out/down on the assets.

If you identify as a Team Leader, you have a ‘business’.
The way you become a Millionaire is building your business. The difference is, your retirement assets are illiquid, and you need a strategy to generate liquidity.

This session will focus on how to value your business, and what you can do to maximize the valuation whether you plan on selling now or in the years to come.

Some of the concepts that will be covered include:

  • The three approaches to valuation (income, market and cost approach) and when each is appropriate for the given purpose.
  • Levels of value and discounts. A non-controlling, non-marketable interest in a business is worth less an otherwise equal pro-rata share of the whole.
  • Special valuation considerations and how to address them, including seasonality, non-operating assets, normalization adjustments, etc.
  • Understanding the three components of business valuation (cash flow, growth and risk), and how managing them effectively can maximize your valuation.
